Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is having pain in her abdomen. She says it is a sharp pain that comes and goes. It started last night before bed. I gave her a Ranitidine around lunch time. She did have a normal bowel movement this morning. I have also given her ginger oil. Nothing seems to help. No fever.
Abdominal pain can be caused by many conditions. However, the main causes are an infection, abnormal growths, inflammation, obstruction (blockage), and intestinal disorders.
Cramps associated with menstruation are also a potential source of lower abdominal pain, but more commonly these are known to cause pelvic pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Monish De, Oncologist
