What Causes Sharp Pain In The Chest And Shoulder Blades?

I have had these sharp pains in my chest that just come on out of no where. It causes my shoulders and shoulder blades to ache, my arms feel warm. It would last from 15mins to 30mins. I can t seem to breathe. But each time I would take 3 tums and it eventually goes away.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The sharp pain with a sudden appearance in chest and shoulder blades which disappear with the intake of Tums indicate possible gastric reflux issue with underlying anxiety most likely.

Kindly get a basic check-up with your doc for further guidelines of management which may include upper GI endoscopy or else.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
