Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went on a months intensive yoga last june and have nagging and sharp pain on my left diaphragm and same place at my back left side too. I went through rehabilitation by going to chiropractor, sports massage and bio mechanics specialist. It was getting better and I tried yoga again 9 months later and the pain has returned with the same intensity.
As per my clinical experience, it is the particular maneuver during the YOGA session which is pausing pull or over exertion over the concerned part of the diaphragm and causing agony of pain. I would like to guide you the need of consulting with expertise of YOGA assistant to get you assistance in particular maneuver which will pause to eliminate the pain during your thorough sessions. Although, muscle relaxant tablet or analgesic spray, ointment will help you for instant relief.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
