What Causes Sharp Pain In The Left Side Of The Chest?

I feel a sharp pain on the left side of my chest when im turning my head to the left its like i pulled something like a nerve or a muscle. It feels like the neck muscle is connected to the pain that im having inside my left chest. It also feels like its inside the rib cage around the heart area. Im thinking it has to do with the way i slept last night cause i wasnt feeling the pain yesterday.

Hello,

As you suspect the pain may come from the way you slept last night, I would like to suggest these steps.
1. Wait for 1 day only.
2. If pains disappear, very good.
3. If pain does not disappear, then do these tests:
- Chest X-Ray
- Complete Blood test
- ECG
- Electromyography of the Chest Muscles

If there is too much pain, you can take NSAID like Ibuprofen 200mg every 6 hours.

I would also like to ask:
1. is the pain related to a meal?
2. is there burning sensation?
3. is there pain during breathing in or out?

Please post with the result (if you have to do the tests) and the answers here in HCM. We have highly skilled doctors here. Any doctor can give you the next course of treatment if required.
