Hello,

You have history of having shingles on the left shoulder blade. Now you are having pain in the left side of the navel. Stabbing pain intermittently in the left side may be indicative of internal shingles , it may occur only on one side of the body. It may cause abdominal pain. When shingles affects internal organs, it's a serious complication that requires urgent medical attention.

You can take Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Naproxen (Aleve), and Acetaminophen (Tylenol), whatever is available to ease discomfort. Do continue to take the prescription medicines given to you by your treating doctor. In the meantime, get plenty of rest and eat well-balanced home made food. Do regular walking and stretching exercises. Cold compression may help. Avoid stressful lifestyle. Take care of your hygiene and stay well hydrated. Avoid addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
