Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sharp Pain In The Pelvis And Dark Vaginal Spotting?
I have had abdominal pain for about a month. Often feel very bloated with increased pressure and pain upper abdomen. Nausea off and on, decreased appetite but no real weight loss. Loose stools with occasional mucus. Sometimes the cramps hit so suddenly I can barely make it to bathroom in time. Last night was the worst the pain has been, I could not stand up straight the pain was so bad and it hurt when I sat down. Also had a sharp pain in pelvis. Then today a scant amount of dark spotting. I m 41, and have an iud and do not have periods with the iud.
I think it may be also due to IUD. Maybe you have to remove IUD with doctor's help. I also advise you to do USG Lower Abdomen. Also, you can do a Blood Routine test.
With all the test results, you should post another question. If after removal of IUD, symptoms do not disappear, please let me know. I will follow up and give you better and specific treatment (not the general treatment as I have given now).
Do not worry. You are under medical treatment. Have faith in us!
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician

Hello, I think it may be also due to IUD. Maybe you have to remove IUD with doctor s help. I also advise you to do USG Lower Abdomen. Also, you can do a Blood Routine test. If too much nausea, you can have Ondansetron. Too much pain, you can take Dicyclomine Hydrochloride. In case, if they re too much bleeding, can take Tranexamic Acid. With all the test results, you should post another question. If after removal of IUD, symptoms do not disappear, please let me know.
