What Causes Sharp Pain In The Ribcage On The Right Side?
Hi. He has a sharp pain in the rib cage on the right side. Its been there off and on, moderate to severe, for a day and a half. He does have acid reflux and doesn t eat well or take his medicine routinely. He did lift something heavy on Sunday, but the pain didn t start until Thursday at noon. His rib was sore to the touch. I didn t think it would be a pulled muscle since it didn t start until yesterday. He has no right kidney or appendix.

Here it seems to be costochondritis or muscle strain leading pain...
Warm compress applied and avoid strenous work...
Take rest
Avoid bad sleep posture while sleeping
Avoid movement that cause pain
Ibuprofen can be taken for five days
Continue medication for acid reflux and head elevated while sleeping to avoid reflux
Take care
Consult physician for examination and if needed USG local part can be done as further work up
