What Causes Sharp Pain In The Right Hip While Bending Down?

I am obese, while going to the bathroom, I turned to wipe myself , and felt a sharp pain in my right side that lasted a few seconds, but it was horrible. its been over a week and it still hurts when I turn, and bend over. Its on my right side, and wraps around to my right lower back. I think it may have been a pulled muscle, but afraid it might me a hernia.

Hello,

Consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.
The possibilities are ligament or tendon involvement and sprain.
An MRI scan might be required for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
