What Causes Sharp Pain In The Skull And Behind The Ear?

I have been experiencing sharp skull pain on the right side behind my ear lobe. Its there continuously and i have to take tramacet for the pain. It sometimes radiates down my cheek and into my throat. I have no clue as to what it could be. I have been a nurse for over 40 yrs but not working now. I am 66 yrs old. Please advise.

Hi.

If you are peri-menopausal then the cause could be a migraine headache which can manifest as explained by you. But it woukd be best to get examined by a physician, as cwmertain sinus related issues, upper respiratory tract infections, vision disturbances, etc; can also manifest in a similar manner.
