Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, For the last several months. I have been experiencing a very sharp pain in my stomach and back during the night. It often wakes me up as it can be quite severe. Usually, after a while of moving around and showering, it slowly goes away on its own and I m fine the rest of the day, except for feeling a little beaten up. I am hating the idea of going to bed every night since no doubt, it will wake me up. I thought it was my bed but I ve slept in other rooms and have seen that it is not that. I recently (6 wks ago) had a hiatal hernia repair re-do and thought it could be that, but I don t believe so. I am very worried about this and am concerned that it doesn t go away.

What Causes Sharp Pain In The Stomach At Night?
Hello, The pain in the stomach can be related to many medical conditions. It can be gastritis or a stomach ulcer. I suggest using antacids such as Maalox. I also suggest using PPI medication such as Omeprazole. I recommend avoiding food that can trigger the symptoms. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
