Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sharp pain in throat while swallowing. Well there can be two factors responsible for symptoms you mention in query first it can occur due to sore throat or upper respiratory tract infection and secondly it can occur due to acid reflux leading to gastroesophageal reflux disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should avoid eating spicy hard and heavy food and take antacid after every meal and keep your elevated while laying down. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for at least a week along with anti inflammatory and analgesic. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist if problem will be related with acid reflux .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
