What Causes Sharp Pain On Left Side Of Head?

Just before thanksgiving I was sitting at my desk at work and I had a sharp pain on the left side of my head, behind my temple, it was almost breathtaking. I thought it would just go away or it was a fluck,but there is a feeling that comes and goes that feels like a sinus headache, I guess I am a little worried

Thankyou for your question..
There are different types of headache like cluster headache,tention headache,headache due to migraine (brain vessels problem) and headache due to mass in brain or decreased blood flow to brain.All types have particular signs ans symptoms.From your history it seems that it might be because of migraine (half sided pain).Yes sinusitis is also one of the cause of headache.To evaluate the cause you may get xray face to evaluate sinuses and CT scan brain and discuss further with neurologist.
