What Causes Sharp Pain Under The Breasts While Breathing Heavily?

I have pain on the left hand side of my abdomen, under my breast, there is a sharp pain when I breath in heavily, this happens from time to time and worries me could you tell me what the problem might be. I don t smoke anymore.( 4 years smoke free) I do like to have a drink, mainly red wine, brandy or Heineken. I am overweight and will be doing something about that this year.

Well come to HCM
This could be due to muscular spasm and this might be due to poor posture try to maintain good posture, this can be well managed with the medicines given below,
1) Tab Diclofenac 50 mg once in day
2) Tab Chlorzoxazone once in day

Hi, thanks for sharing your health concerns with HCM!

If I were your treating Doctor for this case of breast/chest wall lumps, I would come up with three possibilities, these include:
1.     lipoma; not to worry at all but just follow-up!
2.     The second possibility is of benign nerve fibre tumor like neurofibroma; there is nothing to worry about this too!     
3.     The last possibility is of sebaceous cyst or some lymph node or could be breast tumor also!

I suggest you to go for an FNAC and ultrasound of the lump for confirmation and to relieve your concerns!
