What Causes Sharp Pin In Breast After Undergoing Radiation Treatment For Tumor?

I had a small tumor took out of my left breast feb 6, 2015, I then had 10 redation treatments in march, 2015. For about the last 3 weeks my breast is sore and sharp pains shoot through it. There is a very medium hard knot own the place of my surgery. I have to take Tylenol to control the pain. Can you please tell me what may be causing this, Thank you, marsha Balentine

Hi.
Read and understood your history of treatment of cancer of the breast with Surgery followed by radiation and now you have pain in the area which is sharp and shooting.
The cause of such soreness in the area as well as pain in the area is as follows:
The nerves are the toughest structure and during irradiation there goes change into them; while regenerating they cause all sort of pain that you are feeling.
You may please talk with your Surgeon/ treating Doctor to get better medicines like gabapentin or so to have nice control of the pains and soreness.
