What Causes Sharp Pulsating Feel Around The Rib Area?

Hi I keep getting this sharp pulsating pain in both sides of my rib cage it s really sore and on a certain point of my ribs on either side if I push on them it s really painful I wonder is it how I m lying whilst sleeping or something worse it s been going on for a good while.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp pulsating feel around the rib area . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like strain on the Intercostal Muscles , gallstones , costochondritis , pancreatitis , acid reflux and ulcers or inflammatory bowel disorder . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor ma order ultrasound , stool test , endoscopy and take history along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , ornidazole , laxative or muscle relaxant . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination without any delay . Doctor may order tests like ECG , TMT , complete blood lipid profile ,echocardiogram and cardiac catheterization .Doctor may also order angiography . Doctor may prescribe sedative , beta blockers , aspirin and calcium channel blockers .
