What Causes Sharp Shooting Pain In Left Side Of Stomach While Coughing?

Hi. When I cough, breathe deeply or sneeze, the lower left hand side of my stomach has a sharp shooting pain. I had a cold a few weeks ago (which has since subsided) I have also noticed that I am getting a lot of back ache recently (same sort of time as this pain in my stomach started) I am 29years old, female and we have been trying for our third pregnancy, but do not appear to be pregnant yet. What could be causing the pains? And could it affect my chances of falling pregnant? (We fell pregnant VERY quickly in my first two pregnancies, twins and then a single) and have now been trying for about 6 months with nothing happening

Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a pulled abdominal muscle.
It may cause the pain whole coughing.
I suggest using an anti inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.
I also suggest using warm compresses for local application.
