What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain Beside The Navel?

Hi I started having s sharp stabbing pain to the left of my belly button yesterday had all night and today. Now have low grade fever of 100.2. I am a nurse and don t want to make big deal. I to have doctors to callbuy don t want to mother them on new years eve. I thought maybe just gas. I did have gastric sleeve surgery 10 weeks ago. Thanks I am 55 and female no other health issues or allergies.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp stabbing pain beside the navel. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like umbilical hernia , appendicitis , irritable bowel syndrome , appendicitis or celiac Disease. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , blood test , ultrasound and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , antibiotics along with laxative . For now eat healthy , eat non spicy , eat small and frequent meals and take light walk after every meal .
