What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Upper Back Area?

last tuesday a woke up with a sharp stabbing pain in my upper back just below the neck and to the right of my spine, I also had a dull ache in my right elbow. after two days of trying tylenol with no releif I went to the urgent care they felt the area on my back started me on prednisone and muscle relaxents I am not feeling much relief it seems worse in the morning when I first get up. what else can I do to stop the pain

Sharp stabbing pain in the upper back can be pleural in nature. The disease of pleura can lead to stabbing kind of a pain in the chest or back.

Muscular pain is usually relieved by pain killers and muscle relaxants. I suggest you consult your physician for clinical assessment and thus management.
