Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my throat really hurts as a swallowed a sharp crisp and it has cut the inside of my throat. it feels like it has got worse as my throat hurts really bad when i swallow water, food etc. what should i do? i am 18 in 2 weeks, female, i am 174cm tall and weigh 50kg
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your query it seems that due to swallowing a sharp crisp there is tear in throat mucosa leading to inflammation and pain and as soon as you swallow, anything that touches the area causes pain.. I would suggest you to start taking anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen as it will help in reducing inflammation and pain.. You should drink plenty of cool water.. Take a soft diet and avoid any hard and spicy foods as they will further irritate the throat and cause pain.. Do warm saline gargles.. Gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
In case if it does not improve in a week consult an ENT expert and get evaluated.. Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
