What Causes Sharp Throbbing Pain In Lower Tibial Region?

I have sharp jagging pains in lower third of tibial region. Good pedal and popliteal pulses. No inflamation of skinor edema. Pain occurs every 7 to 15 seconds, foot and leg are warm to touch. Started 2 days ago and is not relieved with nsaids. Did not bump leg but was exercising. Could this be muscle spasms? Pain awakens me at night. Elevation and nwb does not change the pains.
