What Causes Shivering And Headache With Pain All Over The Body?
Hi, I slept with a new partner 2 weeks ago. Although we used a condom, we did initially play a little without protection and my penis was inside him. After 5 days I had really bad fever, shivering uncontrollably, chattering teeth and headache, and aches all over. I slept for 20 hours and recovered more or less the next day. My partner got the same symptoms about the same time but much worse and for around 5 - 6 days. Although he dindt have shiverring or chattering teeth. That weekend we had been out all day on the river with th ebike so I thought it was maybe that. But now I m worried I have HIV. I don t know his history but I imagine he is careful. But I id have sex with someone 4 months ago that I later found out is ppositive. We used a condom, but again played for a few seconds without. I m terrified I have it and also that I have passed it on. But surely we wouldn t get the same symptoms atthe ame time like that? This is wahats making me thing we contracted something different atthe same time. I will get a test of course bu t I am at my wits end with worry. My partner went to hospital and got tests (white blood cell count came back normal) and they couldn t explain it. What do you think?
The pattern isn't very typical for HIV. But you certainly need to be tested. Best is to have testing for BOTH the antibody and the viral dna this week and again in 2 to 4 weeks. The original testing protocol was at 1 wk, 1 month 3 month and 6 months but that was before we could test direclty for the viral dna. The virus can grow so much that it sucks up all the antibodies to it and the person looks antibody negative because the infection is very active. The dna would be very very positive so... covered. Other illnesses. Hepatitis. Bladder infections, bowel infections and colds. Hepatitis needs testing, the others, not really.
