What Causes Shooting Pain And Tingling In My Right Upper Thigh?

I am 53 years old and I had a right knee replaced June 2014. All of a sudden I feel shooting pain and tingling in my right upper thigh. I would like to also add that I had a car accident 2/1/16 and have 3 bulging disks and a pinched nerve. What do you think it could be and what medication can I take to help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The shooting pain and tingling upper thigh is suggestive of underlying nerve compression from previous accident most likely. Kindly get a neurologic examination of tendon reflexes, sensation of thigh, knee and toes, motor power to get basic reason in this matter with need of MRI if your doc thinks so. Till that time, intake of ibuprofen or likewise medication for pain relief and Pregabalin or methylcobalamine for tingling sensation will help great way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
