hi,
thank you for providing the brief history of you.
A thorough neuromuscular assessment is advised.
As by understanding your history i understand the pain is radiating from the back to the heel, with some
numbness, and discomfort when walking.
This looks more of nerve impingement in the
lumbar spine. Undergoing an MRI scan will help understand the status of the soft tissues. Due to the soft tissue pathology like the disc herniation, protrusion, etc, the disc touch the
nerve root and then lead to radiating symptoms.
I will recommend you to undergo
physical therapy for further management, as by undergoing therapeutic
ultrasound therapy and TENS therapy the pain levels and abnormal sensory symptoms will come down, post which exercises will be advised and taught as well, to recover the muscular strength and improve the spinal column to keep it stable and avoid future injuries.
In my clinical Practice i see cases with such injuries, and they respond well to physical therapy with 3-4 weeks of physical therapy.
