Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell in December and couldn t walk for 3 days and then wore a immobilizer for 3 weeks. It has always been a little sore since then but the last few days it is hard to walk again and get pain shooting while I m just sitting or laying down. It is located under my knee cap on the inside of my knee. What can I do to stop the pain?
With such presentations in my clinic, I would first rule out ligament injury by doing a physical examination only and it will confirm which ligament has injury after you fall and to rule out other problems after fall you may be advised a simple X-ray. After confirmation do [RICE]rest, ice, compression, and elevation for a week only. During this time you may be advised painkillers like ibuprofen along with a PPI[pantaprazole].
If your problem does not resolve within this time then you need surgical repair and for which you need to consult with an orthopedic doctor.
So nothing to be worried at all
Hope that helps, Please let me know if you have any further questions before you visit your primary care doctor.
Thanks and wish you a good health
