What Causes Short Dizzy Spells And A Pounding Sensation In The Head?

I keep having short dizzy spells, followed by a pounding sensation in my head. I almost feel like I will black out, but never have. I have a mitral valve prolapse, but not serious. I get an echo cardiogram every 2 years. Just wanted to make sure this isn t serious. I t happens when I am driving and I don t know if I am being foolish

Valvular Heart disease with dizzy spells and likelihood of passing out make it worth workup to sort out any perfusion issues as dizziness can be due to a simple flu to a lethal perfusion issues in heart. It should be evaluated.Once cleared then nothing to worry about. A simple symptomatic treatment would suffice.
