What Causes Short Menstrual Flow While Trying To Conceive?

Could I be pregnant? My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant. I have had very regular periods for years. My period was a day late this time, and now that I have it , it is different from the other periods that I have had in that it is very light for me (my first couple of days are usually the heaviest). I have taken two pregnancy tests, one on the day I was supposed to start my period (two days ago) and one today. They have both come back negative. Is there a possibility I could still be pregnant? Many thanks for your help!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there is a change in your period then it is possible that you conceived.

You may need to wait a few days before repeating the pregnancy test.

Pregnancy tests detect HCG hormone. It can take 11 to 14 days after possible conception for this to be detected in the urine so if the tests are done before this time then they may be falsely negative.

If the tests were done after this time period, then they are accurate and do not need to be repeated.

I hope this helps
