What Causes Short Of Breath, Dizziness And Fluctuating Oxygen Level?
Hi. I had pneumonia in both lungs this winter. Severe case. Both types. My oxygen level was 81 when I went to the hospital. 80% of my lungs were filled with fluid. I spent 4 days in the hospital and about two weeks in bed. Took me about a month and a half to recover to about 80% It s been five months now and I feel like I m digressing. I m short of breath, have been getting dizzy, my oxygen level is bouncing between 93 and 95 right now. I feel like I can t get enough oxygen. I m tired all the time and have no energy. I m freaking out that it could be cancer. Is that a valid concern? My wife says all my sympoms match anemia. That seems too simple. I was also coughing a lot yesterday, and today have had a sore throat and headache all day. What could be wrong with me?
thanks for asking your question firstly directly thinking about cancer is not a valid thought there are many diseases first which gives these symptoms in my patients of similar history and condition i would rule out causes like - pneumonitis - upper resp tract infection - lower resp tract infection - tuberculosis -post infective obstructive airway disease
certain investigations which i ll carry out are chest xray , sputum afb smear , sputum for pyogenic culture , spirometry
these ll rule out the causes and help me to get to a diagnosis
dont panic , consult a pilmonologist
thanks feel free to ask more questions
