What Causes Short Period?

Hi I am on 43 days since the first day of my last cycle. The month before It was 36 days. I do work out a lot but for 4 months straight it was 24 days in between. I have been having unprotected sex but I m also 43 years old so I m wondering if this is menopause?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, yes it appears to be perimenopausal symptoms and periods may start to decrease gradually or frequency may decrease as well.

A hormonal profile and gynecologist review are recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
