What Causes Short Term Memory Loss And Tremors In The Hands?

my supervisor is 56 year old male non smoker in good shape cardio wise. However, he has been showing signs of short term memory loss and his hands shake constantly. He has also demonstrated some paranoid issues not too outlandish, just thinks people are listening to his conversations via radios. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Possible causes of short-term memory loss with tremors are:

1. Alcohol abuse or smoking withdrawal
2. Sleep deprivation
3. Depression and stress
4. Nutritional deficiency
5. Head injury
6. Stroke

Rare causes like HIV, syphilis, hypo or hyperthyroidism, etcetera are also there.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your neurophysician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
