What Causes Shortness Of Breath After Falling Down From Stairs?

My son just fell down the stairs, but he says he landed on his bum when he fell, but he's now complaining about pain or discomfort in his tummy and when he speaks he sounds out of breath, should I be taking him to the emergence?? Or did he just get the breath just get knocked out of him

Hello and thank you for your question. When you get the breath knocked out of you from a fall it should only last for a few minutes. If he has had abdominal pain and shortness of breath for more than a few minutes then you need to take him to Emergency right away to make sure that he did not cause any major injury during his fall.
