What Causes Shortness Of Breath Along With Cold Sweats In A Heart Patient?

My husband has been having extremely low blood (70/45, etc. ) pressure lately, probably med. change, but now he is also experiencing shortness of breath and cold sweats. He called the cardiologist office and they told him to decrease his water/blood pressure meds. And see if that helps. And then they said if you pass out just go straight to the hospital. My husband is 65 and has had two heartattacks. Do you think this was a good answer or should they have seen him?

Shortness of breath is a condition that is caused or by the Pulmonary problems or by the Heart problems. In this case, a problem with your husben heart cause this symptomes. I need some more informations so i will be able to give you more spcified advise. What type of medications is he currently using and the dosage. Because if he is taking to much antihypertensive drugs, the blood pressure will continue to be this low... If he is using Diuretics, i need to know the dosage. Perhapse he is taking more that neccessary dosagy. Whats are the urination levels during the day? He needs to check the Electrolyte levels (potassium, sodium). I would reccomend to go to the Cardiologist and do a Heart Ultra sound to check his heart condition. It might be a presence of Heart failure, or Cardiomyopathy, or even Pericarditis. So its neccessary to consult your cardiologist for further evaluation.
