What Causes Shortness Of Breath Along With Fatigue And Cough?

Hello. I am currently on Carvedilol 3.125 mg and have been having breathinig issues, shortness of breath, and tiredness, along with coughing. I have been on this medication for over a year, not for a heart-attack-related issue. I want to go off this medication. email: YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
i can understand your concern. Carvedilol is a beta blocker and the most common side effects associated are dry coughing, breathlessness.
You havent mentioned your age and the reason for using carvedilol. If it is for hypertension, carvedilol can be slowly tapered as stopping immediately would lead to rebound increase in bp and a new anti hypertensive like losartan(which doesnt cause cough) can be started.

kindly get back to us with your age, history of any chronic diseases, any other medications that you have been taking, your blood pressure readings so that we can guide you better.

Hope this helps.
