What Causes Shortness Of Breath Along With Severe Fatigue?

My son has SOB with an OS sat of 96% - 100%, c/o burning in his lungs, severe activity intolerance which leads to severe fatigue. He has tremors with activity that can be felt from his hands to his entire body. No s/s of a cold or flu. Has been going on for 5 weeks. He is 20 years old with no medical history other then ankylosing spondylitis. Any possible ideas what it is?

Hello,

Long-standing ankylosing spondylitis can affect the lungs also. Since the oxygen saturation is low, there is a possibility of fibrosis of lungs. I suggest you consult a pulmonologist for HRCT of the chest.
