What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Chest Pain After Tonsils Surgery?

Hi doctor, I had got my tonsils removed on 04/02/2014. Ofter 6 months, i have been having short of breathing and stiffness, pain in chest especially when i breath polluted air or dust. I recently got my xray showing no problem and iam having cough aswel now but not before got my xray. Are these because of a pus kind of liquid dripping into my throat because i have this problem since 5 years.but all these problems were not there even if i had my tonsils large because of postnasal dripping?.or Do you say that its because i don t have tonsils which makes air heat to go into lungs? And i have bad breath aswel since 5 years and since 5 years i went to many hospitals such as yashodha Secunderabad where my tonsils had been removed and appollo, etc but every doctor said you have no sinusitis.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an after effect of anaesthesia and will settle by itself. Consult a physician and get evaluated. Bronchodilators have to be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
