Hi, my mother is 47 years old. Just recently in the morning, she complained of short breathing and was taken immediately to yhe hospital. She underwent angiography test which showed normal results. However, her ECG showed some abmormalities. The doctors have put her on ventillator, which is something we all are unable to comprehend. Also, she has history of gastric problems and silent high BP. Kindly suggest. Would appreciate to get a quick response, since it is a matter of urgency. Kind Regards Mehak Mittal
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Need of ventilator and history of sudden onset breathlessness are more suggestive of lung related diseases like acute bronchitis, respiratory failure, ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome), massive pulmonary embolism etc. So get done chest x ray and pulmonologist opinion regarding cause for this event. If she is having any acute disease then outcome will be better. No need to worry for cardiac diseases as her angiography is normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
