What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Profuse Sweating Upon Slight Exertion?

I have been diagnosed with tachycardia, hypertension, sleep apnea, hiatal hernia, and GERD. I am taking altool for the rapid heartbeat. A medication for the hypertension with medication included for swelling as my legs would swell really bad. I go back to my regular doctor on 10-26,but I am still very short of breath when I get up to do anything. It feels wonderful not feeling my heart beat out of my chest but I was really hoping this would help the shortness of breath. After about 10 minutes of being up doing things very slowly I start sweating profusely and have to sit down to rest. Any suggestions.

Hi,

You are having a history of hypertension. So it's advisable to investigate with chest x-ray and 2D echocardiography to rule out any respiratory cause or cardiac cause if present to comment further. You should rule out hyperthyroidism as well by serum TSH and free T4 estimation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
