A1C is 8.4. Why do I have this problem with my lungs for the past 6 months only? E-mail bill YYYY@YYYY I am female. thanks Nancy King.
Hi Nancy, thanks for your question. I have read it and understand your concern.
There could be a range of causes responsible for shortness of breath and anxiety. The exact cause/s of your symptoms can be found after a detailed history and physical and psychological assessments. As your doctor is suspecting COPD, this could be one of reasons behind your breathing problems which may also precipitate anxiety. People can get COPD even without any history of smoking as there are other causes that can lead to COPD such as, genetic, recurrent infections of the lungs, exposure to environmental and occupational hazards/smoke, tuberculosis, longstanding asthma etc.
Hope this helps. And please do not hesitate to ask for any further clarification.
