What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Wheezing?

Hello. I have shortness of breath with some wheezing at times. This started a couple of months ago. Sometimes when asleep I have to sit up in bed & gasp for air to get my breathing as close to normal as I can. I am in remission with cholangiacarcinoma. Diagnosed Jan. 14, 2008. Hospice came for 1 1/2 years. I got much better & was therefore discharged from hospice. Diagnosed as in remission now. I have set a survival record at our cancer center here in Lynchburg, VA. My survival time is amazing & I am thrilled about this. Tried to keep a very positive attitude, never felt sorry for myself or did the poor pitiful me thing. I had radiation & chemo back in 2008 & reacted well to this. I wonder if this shortness of brief has to do with the cancer remission diagnosis. I am always having weird things happen that I attribute to the cancer ordeal. Lot s of time something will only happen once or go awhile before it comes up again. Very nice to hear about your survival record. your shortness of breath can be due to many reason. It can also be due to radiotherapy related fibrosis or due to any allergic or smoking related lung disease(if you smoke). Dont worry. Just get your pulmonary function test done & chest x ray..It will get the diagnosis. But dont worry, this is not at all a sign of your cancer worsening. Probably Your queries will definitely be solved. Or let me know if you further want explanation
