Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Arm Numbness And Upper Abdominal Pain?
I woke up this morning feeling tired but I had 7 hrs sleep, that is normal. I am breathing like I cant catch my breath, my head hurts in the back, my right arm has numbness and I have dule pain in my upper abdomen, I feel weak and tired and just an all around don t feel good. I took my blood pressure meds and my lyrica for nerve pain that is usually down my legs not my arm. what do you think?
There are many different medical conditions that may give you such symptoms. Firstly, since you are taking lyrica for nerve pain, numbness in arm may be another manifestation of a peripheral neuropathy. Such a symptom may as well be due to ions imbalances or vitamin deficiency.
I will suggest you get enough rest, eat well and healthy with some vegetables, add some B complex vitamins. Shortness of breath and upper abdominal pain may be independent of your nerve problems. Such a symptom could be caused by GERD/gastritis or a respiratory infection.
I will suggest you see the doctor for examination given that many different conditions may give you such a feeling. Tests that may help include:
- full blood count - serum electrolytes - ESR - typhoid test - malaria test - fasting blood sugar and others depending on the doctor's diagnostic orientation.
You will also have to have you BP under check. Wish you good health!
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
