What Causes Shortness Of Breath Despite Being Treated For Pneumonia?

I caught pneumonia 3 weeks ago, went to the doctor after a week because I originally thought I just had the flu. They gave me antibiotics and for the most part my symptoms have gone away except for the shortness of breath. It s improved but it s still very difficult for me to be active for a short period of time because I run out of breath. Should I return to the doctor or is this part of the recovery process? And is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

In your chest x-Ray if there is presence of consolidation than check that consolidation increase or decrease in size after taking this antibiotics.
If consolidation decrease in size it indicate that antibiotic work.
