What Causes Shortness Of Breath Post LAD Stent Placement?

Good evening, I am a 42 y/o male who had a LAD stent placed on 9/27/2016. Had none of the typical symptoms for heart attack survivors as I am a non-smoker, normal blood pressure, not obese (5 11 /175lbs), fairly active, normal cholesterol. Probably due to stress. Was prescribed Brilinta and experienced SOB. Asked my cardiologist about it and he gave me a new prescription (Effient). I started this new prescription on Friday morning (12/9/16). Still have some SOB. Wondering when I can expect/hope for the SOB to improve? Thank you.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, in few patients (10-13%) may experience dyspnea with this medication. But in case of allergy or hemoptysis or cardiac tamponade or anaphylaxis is the other complications.

Please consult your Cardiologist he will check whether the problem is with the drug or with cardiac function or respiratory problem. Then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
