What Causes Shortness Of Breath While Suffering From Broken Heart Syndrome?

My Thyroid test just came back at .006 and the normal range, so they told me, is .450 to 4.5. I had a heart attack earlier this year - condition was diagnosed as broken heart syndrome. I still feel a shortness of breath still months later. I am wondering about a connection and if their is any urgency to get treatment.

Hi,

If your TSH is less than 0.5 (in your case you say it is 0.006) very likely you have hypothyroidism and you will need treatment for it. Levothyroxine is the drug that is used and is taken once a day. It is important to start treatment with Levothyroxine because low thyroid can affect the heart function.
Low thyroid is a chronic condition but if left untreated for long time can cause urgent condition so please talk with your doctor soon.

Hope I have answered your query.
