What Causes Shortness Of Breath With 50% DLCO On PFT S?
I am 39 yo. When I was pregnant with my second child (age 37) I was extremely SOB. I had PFT s done and they noted a low DLCO...about 50% predicted. All my other volumes tests were within normal limits. Since then I ve repeated the tests and the highest I ve gotten is 62%. I have no medical issues. I know a low DLCO can be assoc with anemia, pHTN, PE, pulm fibrosis ,etc. I have none of those issues either. What else is assoc with it and could it be a precursor to an issue I may develop? This may be off base as well, but is there a link with Mult Sclerosis?
no link to mult sclerosis , low Dlco is also because of your some lung disease go for HRCT THORAX then rule out other things , but sob during pregnancy is mainly associated with heart disease rule out it by 2D echo
