What Causes Shortness Of Breath?

I have trouble sometimes having enough breath to finish a sentence. I have just started daily asthma inhaler treatments(3 weeks), but the symptoms are getting worse. General health is good, The only problem I could find for the breath issue is heart failure. Are there other options? I am 66 years old. I have had this problem for a few years, more off than on. Now more on than off.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Breathlessness due to heart failure needs altogether different treatment from that for asthma.
Taking asthma inhaler (Athalin) would certainly increase the symptoms. You should consult a heart specialist earliest & get the treatment you are taking checked, stopped and followed by suitable treatment for your health.

Take Care!
