What Causes Shoulder Muscle Pain With Discomfort?

I have biting pain in my left shoulder muscle which comes on and off in seconds and frequent. I experience this when i am sitting up and is very uncomfortable and it is not allowing me to sit up for a while to do my work online. Please I need your help. Thank you. From Elizabeth.
