What Causes Shoulder Pain And Back Pain Despite Having Gallbladder Polyp?

Hi doctor, I had a abdominal scan on Jan 22 which revealed 2mm gallbladder polyp.I had occasional back pain and shoulder pain.later Feb and in March the pain increased and felt discomfort hence seen gastroenterologist in april end. He advised for a abdominal scan which revealed 2to3mm of polyp no other abnormalities. Today a letter from my gastroenterologist says it s 3mm but should not be worrying about it. If the pain persist he will see me again. The pain is better now not constant but shows up evenings after 630 or 7. I m confused, should I be getting gb removed? Or wait another 6 months...

Hi,

The gall bladder polyps are usually benign and do not cause any problem except such off and on pains. Getting pain relief for it would do a good job for you. I would recommend you to get repeat scan after 6 months.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
