What Causes Shoulder Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Wrists?

My husband s shoulder hurt, wrists tingle, losing grip in right hand, legs hurt, knees hurt after sitting in a car for even just an hour. No known injury, just started one day and had continued for weeks. Tylenol does help, but does not eliminate the pain. It does not hurt for him to walk, but getting up from a sitting position and the first couple of steps are a challenge. He cannot put his arms up in the air and putting on a coat or shirt is a challenge. His appt. with his general practioner is a couple of weeks away - in the meantime, what could it possibly be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be neuropathic pain secondary to nerve compression. As first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
