What Causes Shoulder With Fingers Radiating Pain Randomly?

I have always been a stomach or side sleeper, but within the last year my shoulders hurt, as if I have a pinched nerve. And the pain will radiate to my fingers during the day at random times. I have no medical conditions or injuries that could have caused this. I am a police officer and am in good health. What could ne the cause?
