What Causes Sinus Drainage And Pinging Sensation Inside Ears?

Hello! My right ear has been having some issues...it sounds like a rubber band is pinging inside if I move my ear, or even sometimes when I swallow. I do get a lot of sinus infections, and right now i have a lot of drainage going on. The rubber band sound has been going on for over 2 weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

This could be related to an infection or inflammation. The rubber band feeling could be associated with your ear drum or even drainage from the eustachian tube or inner ear. I would recommend a visit to your ENT specialist just to make sure this is nothing serious. The use of an apparatus called otovent really helps to drain the eustachian tube.

Best wishes.
