Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Lump on back of neck needs to be assessed clinically. An X-ray of the spine needs to be done to see its relation with the bone. In case the swelling is arising from soft tissue, as aspiration cytology can be done to check the nature of the cells in the swelling.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
